Language courses aim at giving/improving basic knowledge of the Estonian language; improving oral and written language skills; learning to understand what is heard or read. The courses have 1-2 meeting times a week.
The university’s Centre for Professional Development supports the Estonian language studies of international staff and offers foreign nationals employed by the university and their family members an opportunity to take part in Estonian language courses. All international staff members and their family members are entitled to one free Estonian course per semester (excl. intensive language courses), offered by the Centre of Professional Development. The language courses start at the beginning of semester and there are courses for all levels (beginners, intermediate and advanced learners). Employees can learn Estonian at courses organised by the University of Tartu or by our partners. In addition, online courses are available.
